Let's be real:

Parenting is about the shits, as well as the giggles.

How we think about the difficult times impacts our relationships.

Our Framework

What if it’s about a child’s brain development stage instead of their character?

The ways that we name an issue lead our brains down a path to how we engage with the issue. Is a child in the “terrible twos?” Are they a “troubled teen?” A “willful whiner?” Or is their brain feeling overwhelmed? Do they feel lonely? Do they have an unmet need to be heard and understood?

And, when we’re with a child who is experiencing large feelings, what are we experiencing? Do we feel overwhelmed? Lonely? Do we have an unmet need to be heard and understood, too?

Let’s Do This Thing Together

When We Feel like We’ve Got It, We’re Probably About to Have to Pivot Again

Here are some of the ways that we’re learning about and practicing curiosity, discipline, and pivoting through the twists and turns with our children and ourselves.
